Firefighters Make Quick Work on 2-Alarm Fire on Bethel Island

On Tuesday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a mobile home on fire on Bethel Island. The fire caused a second alarm response.

The fire was reported just before 6:00 pm in the 3700 block of Porter Circle with smoke and flames shooting out of the mobile home. It was also reported that an elderly female may still be inside. However, upon Station 95 crew making entry and doing a search of the residence, as well as a secondary search, it was determined no one was inside, however, a cat was deceased inside.

A short-time later, it was determined all occupants made it out of the home with one person transported to an area hospital due to smoke inhalation.

By 6:12 pm, Battalion Chief arriving on scene requested the Contra Costa County Sheriff for traffic and crowd control while reporting heavy smoke and flames.  By 6:24 pm, the fire was determined to be knocked down and all second alarm fire response units were cancelled.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Contra Costa County Fire was on scene for approximately 3-hours.
