Just after 8:00 am Monday, Contra Costa County Firefighters responded to a commercial warehouse that was on fire in downtown Antioch.
According to preliminary information, flames and smoke was reported from a commercial warehouse behind the Antioch Police Department at 1200 W 4th Street. The incident shot a column of smoke into the air.
When crews arrived, they were greeted with smoke and flames which were believed to have been limited to the exterior of the building, however, upon further investigation, it made its way indoors before crews then knocked it down.
Antioch Police were requested for traffic control as they had to shut down L Street to allow for a fire hose to cross the street.
By 8:24 am, the fire was knocked down. Animal Control was also requested for three dogs.
