On May 31, Skylinks at Buchanan Golf Course in Concord was hit by a burglary attempt and vandalism just before 4:00 am
According to Skylinks, a subject rammed their gate around 3:51 am, busting it open, before attempting to break in to the facility–busting a window. They are now offering a $1,000 cash reward for information on who the suspect is.
Since October 2023, the new owners have been attempting to renovate and upgrade the muni golf course—which had been in operation for over 70-years, however, the past few decades it was neglected.
The pair of owners are working to not only make this a golf course, but also serve as a community club where people can come play 9-holes of golf or hit range balls.

Fifteen years ago, roommates and horrendously average beginner golfers Micky and Kiwi stood on the short Par 3 Hole 6 drinking a few cold ones and dreamt about how epic it would be to “own the place”. Fast forward to October 12, 2023 and with the great support of the Airport Execs and backing of the County Board of Supervisors, it finally became a reality with the launch of Skylinks at Buchanon Fields – and we’ve been full throttle ever since.
Alongside our passionate staff that we’ve assembled, our team truly is a family affair with Micky’s mother and co-owner Mary leading the back of the house operations, Micky’s dad Chris running the workshop as our Master Mechanic and Kiwi’s father in law “El Presidente” all getting hands on from Day 1.
We have a LOOOONG way to go with our plans but we all have a simple mission to help make “Buchanon Better” 1% every single day. As we try and test ideas, we’ll no doubt continue to make mistakes but we have no fear in failing forward to help reshape a better future for a place that we love so much.
This golf course was first opened almost 70 years ago in 1955 and with us now rebuilding it’s foundations, we want to get set up to serve our awesome community for the next 70.
