Antioch Home Catches Fire After Vehicle Crash

On Tuesday, a vehicle drove into a home in the 1700 block of Mount Hamilton Drive in the City of Antioch which ignited a house fire in the garage.

The call came in at 10:55 pm and when Contra Costa County Firefighters arrived on scene and observed smoke and flames coming from the garage. By 10:55, the fire was under control and there were no extensions.

According to preliminary information, the estranged ex-husband allegedly intentionally drove the vehicle into the garage to set the house on fire. The Antioch Police Department have not yet issued any information on the incident.

Electrical Fire Causes Power Outage

At 8:50 pm Tuesday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a PG&E meter in the 1900 block of Blue Mountain Ct. in the city of Antioch.

Upon arrival, crews located smoke and fire coming from the wall which was ultimately contained to the electrical box.

Battalion Chief  Scott Valencio said they received a call of smoke coming from a PG&E meter and it caused a power outage to the area around. He said there was no fire in the wall, only smoke, however, 5 homes were without power due to an electrical issue.
No other information was released on this incident.
