The following Richmond Police Calls are for November 27 – Dec 3. These are the dates and recaps reported by Richmond Police.

Below is an overview of significant service activity provided by RPD patrol officers during their scheduled shifts. Please note that activity shared in these segments are provided only as an overview, and do not reflect the entirety of service calls and reports taken throughout each shift.

Richmond Police Calls

11/27 – DISCHARGE OF FIREARM: Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation registering four rounds in the 1500 block of Ohio Ave. Upon arrival officers located one expended casing and one live round. A neighborhood canvass for damaged vehicles or residences yielded negative results. #10557

11/27 – MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: Officers responded to a report of a juvenile experiencing a mental health crisis in the 2200 block of Nevin Ave. The juvenile attempted to jump from a balcony and was being held by the parents as the juvenile dangled from the balcony. Officers were able to pull the juvenile over the railing and bring the juvenile back to safety. #10558

11/27 – ARMED ROBBERY: Officers responded to an armed robbery in the 2500 block of Macdonald Ave. The suspect entered the store while pointing a firearm at the victims behind the counter and retrieved cash from the register. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. An area check was conducted with negative results. #10560

11/28 – ARMED ROBBERY: Officers responded to an armed robbery in the 1200 block of Macdonald Ave. The victim entered the suspect’s vehicle when one suspect produced a firearm. A second suspect that was in the vehicle took the victim’s wallet and other belongings. The suspects let the victim out of the vehicle and fled before officers’ arrival. #10578

UPDATE: On 11/29, while on routine patrol, officers recognized the suspect vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop in the area of 24th and Nevin. Both suspects were arrested without incident and the victim’s wallet was recovered.

11/28 – DISCHARGE OF FIREARM: Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation registering one round in the 500 block of Harbour Way. Officers located an extended magazine at the scene. A neighborhood canvass for damaged vehicles or residences yielded negative results. #10590

11/29 – ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM: Officers conducted an enforcement stop in the area of Carlson Blvd and San Mateo St. During the course of the investigation, a loaded firearm was located inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested without incident. #10613

12/1 – INVESTIGATION – FOLLOW UP: RPD Detectives were following up on an ongoing sexual assault investigation, the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. #9936

12/1 – POSSESSION OF STOLEN VEHICLE/WARRANT ARREST: Officers responded to a Flock notification of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen. Officers located the vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop. A records check revealed the suspect had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested without incident. #10670

12/1 – ARMED ROBBERY: Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 1600 block of Bissell Ave. The victim was approached by three suspects, one suspect produced a firearm while the other two suspects searched the victims’ pockets. The suspects fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. An area check was conducted with negative results. #10675

12/1 – DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE – ARREST: Officers responded to the area of 32nd and Nevin for a report of a traffic collision. Upon contacting both parties, one of the drivers showed objective signs of alcohol intoxication. The subject performed poorly in a Standardized Field Sobriety Test and provided a preliminary alcohol screening sample of .22 BAC, more than double the legal limit. The suspect was arrested without incident. #10680

12/3 – ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the 2200 block of Hilltop Mall Rd for a report of trespassing. Officers located the suspect and arrested him without incident. During the course of the investigation, a loaded firearm was located. #10712

12/3 – POSSESSION OF STOLEN VEHICLE/WARRANT ARREST: Officers responded to a Flock notification of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen. Officers located the vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop. A records check revealed the suspect had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested without incident. #10723
