The following Richmond Police Calls are for March 18-24.  These are the dates and recaps reported by Richmond Police. Police reported 2,006 calls for service with 45 arrests and 23 vehicle crashes.

Below is an overview of significant service activity provided by RPD patrol officers during their scheduled shifts. Please note that activity shared in these segments are provided only as an overview, and do not reflect the entirety of service calls and reports taken throughout each shift.

  • 3/18 – STOLEN VEHICLE/RECOVERY: Officers responded to a Flock alert for a stolen license plate in the area. Officers located the vehicle occupied and conducted an enforcement stop. A records check revealed the vehicle was reported stolen. The driver was arrested without incident. #2717
  • 3/19 – STOLEN VEHICLE/RECOVERY: Officers responded to a Flock notification for a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers conducted an enforcement stop and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. #2739
  • 3/20 – DUI COLLISION: Officers responded to the area of 23rd St and Lincoln Ave for a collision, the reporting party advised one of the involved parties appeared to be intoxicated. Officers contacted the driver displaying objective signs of alcohol intoxication. During the DUI investigation, the driver provided a breath alcohol sample of more than two times the legal limit. The driver was taken to a local hospital to be medically cleared and was cited and released to the care of the hospital. None of the involved parties were injured. #2793
  • 3/21 – STOLEN VEHICLE/RECOVERY: Officers responded to a Flock alert for a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen and conducted an enforcement stop. The suspect was arrested without incident. #2811
  • 3/21 – SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: Officers responded to the 200 block of S. 3rd St for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers located various expended casings in the roadway. A window was struck by gunfire. Fortunately, no one was injured. This investigation is ongoing. #2845
  • 3/23 – CARJACKING: Officers responded to the 3000 block of Hilltop Mall Rd for a report of a carjacking. Officers learned the victim arrived at the location to make a deposit when two suspects demanded his backpack, wallet and cellphone. The suspects entered the victim’s vehicle and fled prior to officers’ arrival. Officers broadcasted a description of the vehicle to surrounding agencies. A nearby agency pursued the stolen vehicle, and two suspects were taken into custody. RPD Officers responded to process the vehicle for evidence. #2903
  • 3/24 – EMBEZZLE LEASED/RENTED VEHICLE/RECOVERY: Officers responded to a Flock alert for a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle quickly accelerated as officers were approaching. Officers deployed stop sticks effectively deflating all four tires and the occupants were taken into custody without incident. #2925
