The following Richmond Police Calls are for February 12-18.  These are the dates and recaps reported by Richmond Police. Police reported 1,992 calls for service with 16 vehicle collisions and 18 arrests.

Below is an overview of significant service activity provided by RPD patrol officers during their scheduled shifts. Please note that activity shared in these segments are provided only as an overview, and do not reflect the entirety of service calls and reports taken throughout each shift.

FEBRUARY 12 – 18, 2024

  • 2/14 – ARMED ROBBERY: Officers responded to the 500 block of Harbour Way for a report of an armed robbery. The victim reported the suspect entered the business, pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded cash. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival. Officers circulated the area with negative results. #1503
  • 2/15 – CARJACKING: Officers responded to the area of Potrero and S. 11th St for a report of a carjacking. The victim stopped his vehicle in the area to speak to the suspect when a second suspect approached. The second suspect produced a firearm and demanded the victim’s keys. The suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle prior to officers’ arrival. #1512
  • 2/15 – COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: Officers responded to the 12000 block of San Pablo Ave for a report of a burglary. Officers learned the suspect entered the building and kicked an office door and stole items from the office. The suspect fled with the items after being confronted by employees. Officers viewed surveillance footage that captured the incident and located the suspect nearby. The suspect fled on foot after seeing officers and was taken into custody with the help of K-9 partner “Grim”. The suspect was still in possession of the stolen items. #1524
  • 2/15 – NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the area of S. 15th St & Florida Ave for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers found numerous casings at the scene. No victims were located and no property appeared to have been struck by gunfire. #1545
  • 2/16 – SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: Officers responded to the area of 41st and Roosevelt for a ShotSpotter Activation. The investigation revealed the victims were chasing after the suspect after they observed him burglarizing one of the victim’s vehicles when the suspect fired at the victims. Fortunately, no victims were injured. At the scene, Officers located several casings and an unoccupied vehicle that was struck by gunfire. This investigation is ongoing #1581
  • 2/17 – ROBBERY: Officers responded to the area of Birmingham Dr and Groom Dr for a report of a robbery. The victim was at the park when he was approached by suspect. The suspect produced a knife and demanded the victim’s wallet. The victim grabbed the knife and suffered a laceration after the suspect pulled back the knife. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officers conducted an area check with negative results. #1597
  • 2/17 – ARMED ROBBERY: Officers responded to the 1400 block of Bissell Ave for a report of an armed robbery. Officers learned the suspect entered the business, produced a firearm and demanded cash from the register. The suspect fled with the cash prior to officers’ arrival. Officers conducted an area check with negative results. #1601
  • 2/17 – SHOOT AT INHABITED DWELLING: Officers responded to the 100 block of 6th St for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers found numerous casings at the scene. No victims were located and no property appeared to have been struck by gunfire. #1629
