The following Richmond Police Calls are for March 25 – April 7 .  These are the dates and recaps reported by Richmond Police. Police reported 3,991calls for service with 65 arrests and 57 vehicle crashes.

Below is an overview of significant service activity provided by RPD patrol officers during their scheduled shifts. Please note that activity shared in these segments are provided only as an overview, and do not reflect the entirety of service calls and reports taken throughout each shift.

  • 3/25 – THEFT: Officers responded to the area of Castro Ranch Rd and Conestoga Way for a report of a subject stealing telephone wires from a pole. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect vehicle with the trunk open and a large amount of wire inside the vehicle. While officers were on scene they observed the suspect walking with a bag full of wires. The suspect was arrested without incident. #2946
  • 3/25 – VEHICLE RECOVERY: Officers responded to the area of 23rd St & Garvin, the reporting party was tracking her stolen vehicle and informed dispatch of the location. Officers located the vehicle occupied and conducted an enforcement stop but the vehicle failed to yield. The vehicle eventually came to a stop after officers deployed stop sticks and both occupants were taken into custody. #2959
  • 3/25 – SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: Officers responded to the 400 block of 20th St for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers located various expended casings in the roadway. A neighborhood check revealed a projectile strike to a residence. Fortunately, no one was injured. This investigation is ongoing. #2963
  • 3/26 – OUTSIDE AGENCY ASSIST: Officers responded to a Flock alert in the area for a wanted vehicle. The vehicle was wanted for robbery by a neighboring agency. Officers located the vehicle occupied and the driver was detained without incident. The neighboring agency responded and assumed the investigation. #2984
  • 3/27 – HOMICIDE: Officers responded to the 300 block of S. 36th St for a disturbance call. Upon arrival, officers located a victim who had sustained fatal wounds. Based on preliminary evidence, officers determined the incident was a homicide. RPD Homicide Detectives responded and assumed the investigation. On 3/28 RPD Detectives, in partnership with an outside agency, were able to locate and take the suspect into custody. #3009
  • 3/28 – NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the 600 block of Nevin Ave for a ShotSpotter Activation. Officers found casings at the scene. No victims were located and no property appeared to have been struck by gunfire. #3121
  • 3/28 – VEHICLE RECOVERY/ CARRY LOADED FIREARM: Officers responded to a Flock alert for a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers located the vehicle occupied and conducted an enforcement stop. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded handgun. The driver of the stolen vehicle was arrested without incident. #3162
  • 3/29 – MISCELLANEOUS: Officers conducted extra patrol along the 23rd & 24th St corridor, this resulted in 3 citations, 1 arrest, and 1 recovered firearm.
  • 4/1 – ARMED ROBBERY: Officers responded to the area of S. 39th & Wall Ave for a report of a robbery. Officers learned the victim saw the suspect reach into the bed of his truck and take his tools. The victim attempted to intervene and when the suspect revealed a firearm tucked in his waistband. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival. Officers conducted an area check with negative results. #3244
  • 4/3 – NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the 400 block of 1st St for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers found numerous casings at the scene. No victims were located and no property appeared to have been struck by gunfire. #3378
  • 4/3 – NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the 500 block of 8th St for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers found numerous casings at the scene. No victims were located and no property appeared to have been struck by gunfire. #3378
  • 4/4 – NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the 200 block of S. 20th St for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers located numerous casings at the scene. No victims were located and no property appeared to have been struck by gunfire. #3400
  • 4/5 – RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: Officers responded to the 2600 block of Ohio Ave for a report of a residential burglary. The reporting party arrived home to find items strewn about and heard someone walking upstairs. Officers arrived, set up a perimeter, and found the suspect climbing the victim’s rear fence. The suspect was subsequently arrested without incident. #3412
  • 4/5 – ARMED ROBBERY: Officers responded to the 12000 block of San Pablo Ave for a report of a robbery. Officers learned the suspect walked inside a store and grabbed the victim in a choke hold and pressed a firearm on his neck while demanding money from two cashiers. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival. A canvass for the suspect yielded negative results. #3439
  • 4/7 – STOLEN VEHICLE/RECOVERY: Officers responded to a Flock notification for a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop but the stolen vehicle failed to yield and made an abrupt U-turn, colliding into an officer’s patrol vehicle. The driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the center median, where it came to a stop. The driver was taken into custody without incident. The officer was not injured and the suspect was transported to a local hospital for medical clearance prior to being booked into RPD jail. #3486
