The following Richmond Police Calls are for January 1-7. These are the dates and recaps reported by Richmond Police. Police reported 1,878 calls for service with 16 vehicle collisions and 34 arrests.

Below is an overview of significant service activity provided by RPD patrol officers during their scheduled shifts. Please note that activity shared in these segments are provided only as an overview, and do not reflect the entirety of service calls and reports taken throughout each shift.

  • 1/1 – DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the 4200 block of Center Ave for a report of a shooting. Officers learned the victim was being followed by the suspect when the suspect fired at least one round as the victim was attempting to drive away. The victim was not injured. This investigation is ongoing. #13
  • 1/1 – DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the 4800 block of Hartnett Ave for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers found numerous bullet casings at the scene. No victims were located, and no property appeared to have been struck. #23
  • 1/1 – SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: Officers responded to the 100 block of S. 33rd St for a report of a shooting. Officers located a gunshot wound victim. The victim was provided medical treatment on scene before being transported to a local hospital in stable condition. During their preliminary investigation, officers learned the victim was standing near his vehicle when gunfire was heard. This investigation is ongoing. #29
  • 1/3 – ROBBERY: Officers responded to area of 23rd and Macdonald Ave for a report of a robbery. Officers learned the victim was stopped at a red light when the suspect smashed her window and reached for her purse. The suspect ran off to a waiting vehicle. Officers conducted an area check with negative results. #84
  • 1/3 – SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: Officers responded to the 1500 block of Ohio Ave for a report of two gunshot wound victims. Officers located two victims at the scene, each suffering from at least one gunshot wound to their lower extremities. The victims were provided medical treatment on scene before being transported to local hospitals. The victims reported that they were walking when gunfire was heard. This investigation is ongoing. #86
  • 1/4 – STOLEN VEHICLE – RECOVERY: Officers responded for a Flock notification of a stolen vehicle in the area. A records check confirmed the vehicle to be stolen out of Richmond. Officers circulated the area and located the vehicle. Officers conducted an enforcement stop and after further investigation, the suspect was arrested without incident and the vehicle recovered. #98
  • 1/4 – DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the 100 block of Chanslor Ave for a ShotSpotter activation. No victims were located at the scene and one structure was struck by gunfire. Officers conducted an area check with negative results. #141
  • 1/5 – ROBBERY: Officers responded to the 4300 block of Macdonald Ave for a report of a robbery. The victim reported that she arrived at the bank with a deposit bag, and while gathering belongings from her vehicle, two suspects approached the victim and snatched her bag. After a brief struggle, the suspects ran off to a waiting vehicle. An area check was conducted but the suspects were not located. #168
  • 1/5 – ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the 1700 block of Ohio Ave for a report of a robbery. The victim was walking when he was approached by two suspects. The suspects physically assaulted the victim and attempted to remove items from the victim’s pockets. The suspects fired one round into the air as they fled the scene. Officers conducted an area check with negative results. #174
  • 1/5 – ROBBERY: Officers responded to the 900 block of Macdonald Ave for a report of a robbery. The victims were inspecting their vehicle in a parking lot when they were approached by two suspects. One suspect brandished a knife while the second suspect took the victims’ purse. The suspects ran off to a waiting vehicle and fled prior to officers’ arrival. #177
  • 1/6 – DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: Officers responded to the 600 block of Erlandson St for a ShotSpotter activation. No victims were located at the scene and no structures were struck by gunfire. Officers conducted an area check with negative results. #198
  • 1/6 – DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM, STOLEN FIREARM RECOVERY: Officers responded to the 2800 block of Moran Ave for a ShotSpotter activation. Upon arrival, officers actively heard additional gunshots being fired. A perimeter was established and with the assistance of a local law enforcement agency, officers were able to locate the suspect and the firearm. A records check revealed the firearm was stolen out of a nearby City. The suspect was arrested without incident. #200
  • 1/7 – STOLEN VEHICLE – RECOVERY: Officers responded to a Flock notification of a stolen vehicle in the area. A records check confirmed the vehicle to be stolen out of a nearby city. Officers circulated the area and located the vehicle. Officers conducted an enforcement stop and after further investigation, the suspect was arrested without incident and the vehicle recovered. #207
