At 5:20 pm on Sunday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of an overturned vehicle crash at Vasco near Walnut Blvd in unincorporated Brentwood.
It was reported that that the vehicle was on its roof and one person was trapped.
According to preliminary information, it appears the overturned vehicle was attempting to pass another vehicle and lost control. Lanes of traffic were blocked.
By 5:30 pm, Engine 92 crew reported 3 total patients. A short time later, upgraded it to a total of 5 patients with at 2 sustained major injuries. Two additional AMR units were requested for a total of 4 AMR units. A medical helicopter was also responding.
By 5:38 pm, the Battalion chief confirmed a total of 6 patients with 2 being major injury and 4 being minor injury with one person transported.
Note – While responding, Engine 99 reported another vehicle crash at Marsh Creek Road and Sellers. However, it appears to be a minor injury and will divert their AMR unit to the Vasco crash.
UPDATE –
By 7:05 pm, Vasco Road is open.
