The Antioch Police Department confirmed Saturday that they responded to a shooting Friday night just before 10:00 pm on Somersville Road in the City of Antioch.

According to Lt. Michael Mellone, on February 9 at 10:42 pm officers were dispatched to 2101 Somersville (Valero) on report of a shooting. Officers learned one patron was shot-at after a verbal argument with the suspect. The victim was not struck by gunfire. The suspect fled and officers are still investigating.

No other information was released.

On Tuesday, in an unrelated incident, Police are still investigating a traffic crash and a shooting at E 18th Street and Hillcrest Avenue in the City of Antioch.

It was determined that two unknown males assaulted another male in a nearby parking lot. As the two initial assailants retreated to their vehicle, the assault victim retrieved a handgun and fired multiple gunshots at the vehicle as it was leaving the parking lot. The vehicle performed a U-turn against a red light at the above intersection while fleeing from the gunfire and collided with an uninvolved vehicle traveling east on E. 18th Street. The occupants of the vehicle being shot at fled on foot after the collision and were not located. The shooter fled the scene in a vehicle and was not located.

The driver of the uninvolved vehicle was transported to an area hospital with complaints of pain.

Given valero location in boarded up west Antioch not surprising armed criminals are running about.
Don’t be concerned though about wild west Antioch am sure mayor podium will make crime a priority right after he fixes the environment and that fossil fuel thing.
