Two people were rescued by Contra Costa County Firefighters at an apartment complex Friday night in the City of Walnut Creek.
At 7:59 pm, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to the 1700 block of Countrywood Court which was quickly upgraded to a 2-alarm fire response after crews learned occupants were inside with heavy smoke and fire showing from the two-story building.
Contra Costa County Fire later stated two confirmed rescues with both patients transported after crews made a very aggressive fire attack and quick search to locate, remove, and transport the patients to the hospital.
The picture shows where one occupant was located through a window, and crews cut open the exterior wall to complete the rescue. Investigator on scene, fire out.
