At 5:30 pm Sunday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a fire in the 100 block of Cottonwood Common in the City of Brentwood.
While responding, units reported smoke showing and upon arrivial, reported flames coming from the home. This appeared to be an exterior fire which made its way to a back bedroom before making its way to the attic.
As crews made their way to the roof, flames shot through the roof before crews took control of the fire limiting damage to the house of origin.
No other details have been released.
The Brentwood Police Department responded for traffic control along with AMR.
