Updated: Antioch Police Investigating Downtown Fatal Shooting

At approximately 4:30 pm Saturday, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of a person who had been shot at least two times.

The incident occurred near Waldie Plaza at W 1st Street between Monica’s Riverview and the Pier.

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters arrived on scene and confirmed one male was deceased. The person had confirmed been shot.

No other details have been released on this fatal shooting and Antioch Police are investigating.

UPDATE Brentwood Police CONFIRM Antioch Homicide + SWAT Callout

BRENTWOOD, CA – On December 16, 2023, at around 5:45 p.m., Brentwood officers responded to the 1200 block of Dainty Avenue in search of a suspect vehicle that was associated with a shooting homicide that occurred a short time earlier in the City of Antioch.

Brentwood Officers located the suspect vehicle leading to the detention of three suspects. Further investigation led to the need for BPD SWAT to be activated in order to search a residence and surrounding property. BPD drones were utilized as well as the Emergency Rescue Vehicle. Dainty Avenue, between Griffith Drive and Sarah Street, was closed for approximately 3 hours.

At this time there is no threat to public safety.
