Bicycle Swerve Crews

Herbert called this an issue residents are concerned with and an issue that is scary for a driver with a person on a bicycle coming at them doing a wheelie. He said they have taken measures to identify the kids. Police have worked to identify the youth through photographs provided by citizens and working with the school district and finding kids don’t actually live in the city, but using social media to get together.

“From the mouth of one of the kids, we enjoy coming to Brentwood because the streets are nice,” said Herbet. “We are doing our best to identify them and do our best to stop this from occurring whether it be contacting their parents. We can’t force them to come pick them up, but we can contact them and issue them a citation for road violations or helmet if its warranted.”

The fact that the lump Murder and Justifiable Homicide together under the “violent crime” category says a lot. BPD believes that acts of self defense are “violent crimes”? Am I misunderstanding something here?
